Position Summary

The Event Sales Representative is responsible for reaching out to corporate meeting and wedding planners, fielding event rental inquiries and RFPs, creating beverage catering proposals, selling and servicing recurring clients, building venue and vendor sales relations, and developing lasting sales-generating industry partnerships. The Event Sales Representative will also be in charge of coordinating the event highlights and happenings on the social channels for our restaurant, tasting rooms and rooftop venues. This position requires working non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends and holidays) to meet the clients’ needs.

What You'll Do Here

  • Generate new event sales for our venues, fulfill incoming sales requests and present the venue to meeting planners
  • Create custom proposals for events, manage client expectations, and close event contracts
  • Identify opportunities to promote our venues on the various industry platforms
  • Represent Bay City Brewing Company at key industry networking events to identify & and grow event sales business
  • Create effective sales tools, proposals and pitch decks as necessary
  • Work with Management, & Operations Teams to plan events & execute projects
  • Beyond “selling” to clients, the position is responsible for ensuring smooth customer relations and event execution which may require visiting with event clients, stopping-in to their events to ensure success or, where necessary, ultimately managing events onsite; ensuring event execution meets client vision
  • Communicate all event needs to the Bay City team with appropriate recommendations to maximize profit, minimize event costs, and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Help advise the team on staffing needs and support the execution of the event from beginning to end
  • For events where the Event Sales Representative is the primary contact or sales lead, the Sales Representative takes primary responsibility for the success or failure of the event from a customer service perspective
  • Track individual sales and leads to keep accurate & up to date company sales reports for the team on Tripleseat
  • Coordinate with the marketing team with event highlights and happenings on the social channels for our restaurant, tasting rooms and rooftop venues
  • Other duties as assigned

We Need A Person With

  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred
  • 2+ years of Beverage/ Catering Event Sales experience
  • 2+ years of Food and Beverage Hospitality experience
  • Solid track record of success in event sales, budgeting and proposal generation
  • Must be detailed oriented and highly organized
  • Extraordinary relationship building and customer service skills
  • Superior presentation skills and the ability to generate consensus and lead discussions
  • Exceptional oral and written communication with superior project management skills
  • Microsoft & Google Office Suites (Gmail, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Slides, Pages)
  • Experience with Tripleseat highly desirable
  • Knowledgeable with social channels and supporting social media efforts (i.e. Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, FaceBook, etc.)
  • Well versed in video meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams)
